REMODEL Project Final Meeting Successfully Concluded
The Final Meeting of the REMODEL Project was successfully held over two consecutive days on 16–17 December 2025 at Bursa Uludağ University (BUU), Türkiye. The two-day closing event marked the formal conclusion of the project by bringing together consortium partners to review overall achievements, assess the outcomes of each work package, and conduct a comprehensive final evaluation of the project’s impact, sustainability, and future perspectives.
Day One: General Assembly and Executive Board Meetings
The first day of the final meeting, held on 16 December 2025, focused on the project’s formal closure procedures and detailed technical review. The programme started with the General Assembly Meeting, chaired by Prof. Dr. Aylin Poroy Arsoy, REMODEL Project Coordinator. During this session, quorum was confirmed in accordance with the Consortium Agreement, the agenda was approved, and an overarching overview of the REMODEL project processes was presented. This session provided consortium members with a consolidated reflection on the project’s implementation from its inception to completion.
Following the General Assembly, the Executive Board Meeting took place and continued throughout the day with the participation of Executive Board members and consortium partners. The session opened with confirmation of quorum and approval of the agenda, followed by a strategic overview of REMODEL’s objectives and a discussion on final reporting and review processes, led by Prof. Dr. Aylin Poroy Arsoy.
The core of the Executive Board Meeting consisted of comprehensive presentations covering all work packages, each focusing on objectives, implemented tasks, achieved results, and overall impact:
- WP1 – Project Management was presented by Prof. Dr. Yasemin Ertan, outlining the coordination structure, governance mechanisms, risk management, and successful delivery of the project in line with Horizon Europe requirements.
- WP2 – BUU Research Capacity Building, presented by Padraig Gallagher, highlighted activities aimed at strengthening research capacity at Bursa Uludağ University, including skills development, institutional learning, and long-term capacity enhancement.
- WP3 – Twinning and Networking, delivered by Carmen Rodríguez Santos, focused on international collaboration, knowledge transfer, staff exchanges, and the strengthening of BUU’s integration into European research networks.
- WP4 – Research in Innovative Business Models Leveraging the Business Model Innovation (BMI) Lab, presented by Prof. Dr. Çağatan Taşkın, showcased research outputs, methodological advancements, and the role of the BMI Lab in supporting innovation in the hospitality sector.
- WP5 – Dissemination, Communication, Exploitation and Outreach, presented by Prof. Dr. Elif Yücel, reviewed dissemination strategies, communication activities, stakeholder engagement, and exploitation pathways ensuring the sustainability and visibility of project results.
The first day concluded with a dedicated Discussions and Decisions session, during which consortium members exchanged views on lessons learned, best practices, and final remarks, officially closing the technical implementation phase of the project.
Day Two: Overall Evaluation and Reflection on Project Impact
The second day of the final meeting, held on 17 December 2025, was devoted to a general evaluation and reflective assessment of the REMODEL Project. During this session, partners collectively reviewed the project’s overall achievements, its contribution to strengthening research and innovation capacity in Türkiye, and its impact on the development of innovative business models for the hospitality sector.
The discussions emphasized REMODEL’s success in fostering sustainable international collaboration, enhancing institutional capacity through twinning mechanisms, and bridging academic research with industry needs. Particular attention was given to the long-term sustainability of project outcomes, including the continued operation of the Business Model Innovation Laboratory, ongoing networking activities, and future opportunities for collaboration under Horizon Europe and other EU programmes.
A Strong Conclusion to a Capacity-Building Journey
The REMODEL Final Meeting marked the successful completion of a comprehensive capacity-building journey, demonstrating the project’s strong governance, effective collaboration among partners, and meaningful contribution to the European Research Area. The two-day event not only served as a formal closure but also laid the groundwork for future initiatives, partnerships, and follow-up projects building on the achievements of REMODEL.
