Juanita Blue is a Senior European Project Manager at Atlantic Technological University (ATU) managing active Interreg and Erasmus+ projects with various partners across Europe, Middle East and the Northern Periphery & Arctic regions (NPA) as both lead and implementing partner. She has gained extensive experience in research through funded projects led by Ulster University and independent research conducted with ATU. This research has been disseminated at National, European and International forums. She is also an accomplished lecturer, specialising in the areas of Computer Security, Authentication, Steganography, Biometrics, Maths for Cryptography and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC). She currently manages EU funded projects in the areas of Business Model Innovation, ESG, Digital Transformation in Hospitality, Sustainability, Children’s Health Education, Offshore Wind, Circular Economy, Sustainable Tourism, and many others.
The topic of the visiting lecture was “Understanding Horizon Europe -Funding, Priorities & Participation” on May 27th, 2025. This workshop offers an introduction to Horizon Europe, the EU’s main research and innovation funding programme. Participants will explore its three key pillars, the six thematic clusters, and the focus on Widening Participation and Strengthening the European Research Area (ERA). The session will cover fundamental aspects of the programme, practical insights on engaging stakeholders, building strong partnerships, and aligning project ideas with EU priorities.
