dr. conor MCTIERNAN
Conor McTiernan (PhD) is a lecturer in the Department of Tourism and Sport in Atlantic Technological University. He completed his PhD in Leeds Beckett University exploring the role of trust in inter-organisational knowledge transfer in Irish festival and event tourism networks.
The topics of the visiting lecture were “trust” and “knowledge management”. The first day (April 26th, 2023) was focused on trust. The second day (April 27th, 2023) was focused on knowledge management.
First Day Visiting Lecture
The content of the visiting lecture hosted by the Bursa Uludag University Management Organization PhD class on April 26th, 2023 is as follows:
- What is trust?
- Advantages/disadvantages of trust
- Barriers and enablers of trust development
- Fragility of trust
This Workshop aims to introduce the topic of trust to PhD students, an increasingly recognised key to understanding employees and customers actions and behaviors.
Second Day Visiting Lecture
The content of the visiting lecture hosted by the Bursa Uludag University Business Administration PhD class on April 27th, 2023 is as follows:
- What is knowledge management?
- Types of knowledge – tacit and explicit
- Sources of knowledge
- The challenge of codifying tacit knowledge
- Absorptive capacity, competitive advantage and organisational effectiveness
This workshop aims to introduce the topics of knowledge management and absorptive capacity to PhD students, an increasingly recognised key to gaining competitive advantage.
On the first day (April 26th, 2023), Dr. Conor together with REMODEL Project Coordinator Prof. Aylin Poroy Arsoy and REMODEL WP Leader Prof. Çağatan Taşkın visited Bursa Uludag University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Dean Prof. Derda Küçükalp in his office. Dean Küçükalp stated that as the faculty they attach importance to the studies carried out within the scope of the REMODEL project, he expressed his pleasure with the visit.
On the second day (April 27th, 2023), Dr. Conor together with REMODEL Project Coordinator Prof. Aylin Poroy Arsoy, Project Manager Assoc. Prof. Yasemin Ertan, Communication Manager Assoc. Prof. Elif Yücel, WP Leaders Prof. Nuran Bayram Arlı and Prof. Çağatan Taşkın visited Bursa Uludag University Rector Prof. Ahmet Saim Kılavuz in his office. Rector Kılavuz stated that his pleasure for Bursa Uludag University, a research university, to take part in such a project and thanked to Dr. Conor for his visit.
